Alex Shiriaieff
Chief Executive Producer
Alex Shiriaieff is a seasoned expert in Europe's non-scripted film market with nearly 30 years of experience in documentary content focused on Eastern and Northern Europe - his core areas of expertise.
Between 2013 and 2023 Alex served as Head of Operations and CEO at B2B Doc – Baltic to Black Sea Documentary Network, an organisation he started together with his colleague, teacher and friend Malcolm Dixelius. In this role, Alex became adept at navigating fragile and vulnerable regions while consistently delivering impactful results.
In his current position Alex leverages a unique ability to bridge East and West, enabling him to deliver compelling, timely stories that resonate with international audiences.
Max Tuula
Executive producer, documentary films and series
Max Tuula is an Estonian documentary producer with an international track record spanning Estonia, the US, Latvia and the Czech Republic. Trained in Political Science and journalism, he moved into film production in the late 2000s, supporting emerging Eastern European filmmakers from development through distribution.
Since 2011, Max has worked full-time as an independent producer, recognised for politically engaged and socially focused films on resistance, human rights and Russia's war against Ukraine.
His films have screened widely at leading festivals, including IDFA, CPH:DOX, DokLeipzig, Karlovy Vary, Warsaw and Full Frame, and have received awards in Locarno, Krakow, Odesa and beyond.
Alongside producing, Max mentors and curates across major industry platforms, including B2B Doc and Berlinale's EFM Toolbox, and has coordinated pitching and programmed competitions that champion underrepresented voices. Across his work, he consistently foregrounds inclusion, marginalised communities and the decolonisation of Northern Eurasia.
At EuroArctic Media Group, Max oversees the production of documentary film projects.
